These fees are based on our best information about the counties and their local rules/practices and do not include the filing fee (click the filing sees button above for the filing fees in your county) for your case or the cost of the parenting seminar (only required if you have minor children). Should the above counties that normally do not require a court appearance require one, an additional court appearance fee will apply (usually $250.00). The parenting seminar usually costs $30 for each person in most counties and both parents MUST attend. Because of the variation in local rules and procedures, our fees mary vary slightly from county-to-county if minor children are involved.

The fees quoted do not include preparation of qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) or any deeds and do not include division of a business. If your case involves division of a business or a QDRO, please call for a quote. Likewise, we advise all clients that their estate planning documents (wills, advanced directives, living wills, health care powers of attorney, etc) should be revised upon a divorce and would be happy to help with such.

Your spouse will not be served by the Sheriff in your uncontested case. The law provides that your spouse may be notified of the divorce by publication if you can no longer contact him/her. This is called a divorce by publication and does not fall under the same category as an "uncontested divorce". If you need a divorce by publication, please call for a quote. In addition to the filing fees, there are other costs associated with a divorce by publication. The publication fee is usually approximately $80.

Upon request, a name change for our client (or spouse) to restore a maiden/pre-marital name will be included in any uncontested divorce at no additional charge. If you have already gotten divorced and you wish to change your name, you must file a separate name change action. Please call our office for a quote.
